Strong Secure Password Generator

Random password maker — generated instantly in your browser, nothing sent to a server.

Entropy: — bits
Quick answer: Tick the character sets you want, press Generate Password, then set a length of 16 or more. The password appears in a highlighted box with a copy button beside it, instantly and without a page reload. Everything is generated locally with the Web Crypto API, and you can produce up to 20 passwords at once. Entropy is shown in bits: 60 is good, 90 is strong, 128+ is excellent.

How this password generator creates strong passwords

A password is only as strong as the size of the space an attacker has to search. This generator builds a character pool from the sets you tick, then draws each character independently from that pool using the browser's cryptographic random number generator. Every character class you add widens the pool, and every extra character multiplies the number of possible combinations — which is exactly why length matters more than complexity.

What entropy means
Entropy is measured in bits. Each additional bit doubles the guessing work. Around 60 bits is good for casual accounts, 90 bits is strong, and 128 bits or more is excellent.
Length beats complexity
A 20-character password using only letters and numbers beats a 10-character password that uses every symbol on the keyboard. Raise the length first, then add variety.
Nothing leaves your device
Passwords are built with crypto.getRandomValues() right in the page. No round trip to a server, no logging, no storage.

Frequently asked questions

You choose a length, the character sets to include, and how many passwords you want. The generator builds a character pool from your selections, draws random characters from it in your browser, and displays the resulting entropy in bits.
No. Passwords are produced locally in your browser and never sent to a server. Nothing is logged or saved, so identical settings give you different passwords every time.
16 characters is a solid baseline for everyday accounts, and 20 or more for email, banking and password-manager master passwords. Length increases strength faster than adding symbols.
Characters such as 0, O, o, l, 1 and I look nearly identical in many fonts. Excluding them prevents typos when reading a password from the screen or copying it by hand.
Entropy is measured in bits and represents how unpredictable a password is. Every extra bit doubles the guesses required. Around 60 bits is good, 90 bits is strong, and 128 bits or more is excellent.
Symbols help, but they are not essential. A 20-character letters-and-numbers password beats a 10-character password with symbols. Add length first, then variety.
